Industrial Culture Tour

A chemistry set like no other

The Marl Chemical Park is one of 25 landmarks on the Industrial Culture Tour, a route allowing those with an interest to explore the history of the region or to study the historical traces of a particular facet of industry, such as mining, shipping, or railroads.

A number of impressive sights await visitors to the Chemical Park. The 9th floor of the high-rise, for instance, affords an impressive view of the gigantic industrial site, the city of Marl, the Ruhr Valley, and the Münsterland region.

Plus, did you know that there is an enormous plant here whose sole purpose is to separate air into its components? Or that one of the large pipe bridges here is no longer riveted or welded together, but is instead held together just as firmly using modern chemical adhesives?

On a plant tour, you’ll learn this and more!
